To Rehash An Old Post

Okay, I’ve been watching some of the House Republicans, last week, talking about the left’s “War on Christianity” on CSPAN and CNN… This leads me to a question, about which I’m totally curious: Is the United States not inhabited by Christians, as the HUGE majority? Am I crazy to think that there are Democrats among the Christian population of this land? Republicans speak, on the floor of the House, as if ONLY Republians are Christian, and everyone else is declaring war on Christianity.
As a non-Christian, I’d make the fuckin’ popcorn for the show that would be the Christian Civil War, but let’s face it, it’s not REALLY happening. Unfortunately if anyone makes a motion to keep church & state separate, there’s this uproar about how Christians are under attack. This is the MOST ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard in my life.
Trying to keep the 10 Commandments from the Christian bible out of government buildings is hardly a war on the freedom to practice your faith, people. If I recall, Christ was the martyr for your religion, you don’t have to be. So stop fuckin martyring yourselves and just face the facts that not everybody wants to see the church and the state merge. Look at Iran, church-run state. Does Iran look like the paradise you’d expect from a church-run state? Probably not.
Not everbody enjoys seeing your religious symbology littering the landscape, nor does everybody want to have YOUR faith in THEIR face. For being the spiritual bullies of the land, you’re sure a whiney “poor us”, “we’re the victims here” lot.
I guess what I’m trying to say is: Jesus Fucking Christ, there is NO war of Christianity. Crawl down off your crosses and enjoy your faith on a personal level. You make it sound like you can’t be openly Christian in this country, which is TOTALLY absurd. Just because not everyone is comfortable talking religion with you or seeing your symbols everywhere, doesn’t mean you’re not free to practice your faith. So shut the fuck up and pray, bitches, thank your God that you’re able to practice your religion. After all, THAT is what is important, is it not?
